Yorkview Kids Care was established in 1987.\u00a0 As a non-profit school-based childcare centre; Yorkview Kids Care was created to meet the growing needs of the families in the community.<\/p>\n

The Centre is located in Yorkview Public School.\u00a0 We have two spacious classrooms, and operate before and after school full-day kindergarten (FDK) programs in shared kindergarten classrooms.\u00a0 We are fortunate to operate one of our school-age programs in the teachers\u2019 staffroom.\u00a0 We have the advantage of having access to the gymnasiums, outdoor courtyards and the library.\u00a0 Our convenient location eliminates additional travel for children attending Yorkview Public School. For safety and convenience, our Pre-school and Kindergarten playground is located on the school grounds and is fully fenced in. We also use the pavement area for riding bikes and active play. The school-age children enjoy the baseball diamond, large field, school playscape and pavement.<\/p>\n

A Board of Directors manages Yorkview Kids Care.\u00a0 Board members include parent and community members who are elected each year at our Annual General Meeting.\u00a0 The principal of Yorkview P.S. or a designate may act in the role of a liaison between the school and childcare.\u00a0 If you have a vision for the childcare, please consider joining the Board of Directors.<\/p>\n

Yorkview Kids Care prides itself in offering affordable childcare teamed with qualified and caring staff members.\u00a0 We look to your support and input to help us make your child\u2019s experience at Yorkview Kids Care the most positive for you, your child and your family.<\/p>\n

These goals and objectives are accomplished within the requirements of the Early Years Act, The Toronto Children\u2019s Services Assessment for Quality Improvement and the Toronto Public Health.\u00a0 Regulations with regard to space, qualifications of staff, teacher ratio, nutrition, safety, medical requirements, type of activities and quality of program are adhered to.<\/p>\n

Yorkview Kids Care employees are trained staff and Registered Early Childhood Educators and follow the Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT) framework and the How Does Learning Happen<\/em> document.\u00a0 All staff have their standard first aid training (with child CPR) and have obtained Vulnerable Sector Checks.\u00a0 On occasions, the centre may host students or volunteers.\u00a0 An orientation and training process outlining guidelines and procedures to the candidate prior to working with the children.\u00a0 Volunteers and students are supervised by an employee at all times; they are never left alone with the children.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
